ALT Labour Solutions
Project Management & UI/UX Design
In 2024, I led the Web4You team to develop a new labor management platform for ALT Labor Solutions. Our goal was to create a system that works well for both union and non-union companies. This platform had to make it easier for companies to hire contractors, post job postings within their industries, subcontract their spare labour, manage internal scheduling and sell/rent products online. Think of a Kijiji, LinkedIn, and Indeed mixed together, with an internal management adon.
Client Requirements
- Job Center: A robust system for posting and browsing job listings, along with basic candidate management tools to streamline the hiring process.
- Resume Center: A feature that allows job seekers to create and post resumes, enabling employers to explore potential candidates efficiently.
- Comprehensive User Role System: A sophisticated user role system similar to those used by major platforms like Facebook and Google, allowing detailed access and management capabilities across different user levels.
- Product Center: An online marketplace similar to Kijiji for posting and managing product ads, and facilitating business transactions directly on the platform.
- Internal Employee and Worker Management: Tools for scheduling and managing jobs for internal employees and workers, enhancing organizational efficiency and workforce management.
- Integration with Stripe: A custom package builder designed to allow modular access to various platform features, integrated with Stripe for secure and flexible payment options.
My Role in the Project
Project Management
I was responsible for overseeing the project from start to finish, ensuring that all milestones were met on time and aligning the development team with the client’s expectations.
UI/UX Design
I designed the user interface and user experience, focusing on creating an intuitive and accessible platform. This involved prototyping, user testing, and adjusting designs based on feedback to ensure ease of use and functionality.
Team Leadership
I facilitated communication between the development team and ALT Labor Solutions to clarify requirements, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments throughout the project.
Client Collaboration
Engaged with the client to gather insights and translate them into actionable design and technical specifications. Regularly updated the client and incorporated their feedback throughout the project.
Quality Assurance
Conducted thorough testing to ensure the platform met all specifications and quality standards, incorporating user feedback for continuous improvement.
